This yummy cake can be made with various fruits and is always a crowd pleaser.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- 1 cup oil
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1 cup peeled plums (fresh or tinned), or enough to cover the cake
Steps
- Mix together the eggs and the sugars.
- Sift in one cup of flour.
- Add one cup of oil.
- Add 2 cups of flour followed by 3/4 cup of orange juice.
- Spread plums onto the top of the mixture.
- Bake for approximately 50 minutes at 160ºC.
Tips
- This recipe is so versatile. You can put on cherries, blood plums, apples, chocolate, nuts or whatever you would prefer.

- Remove any pits from the plums.
